Please keep discussions of radiation safety serious. The XLt 898 contains a shielded X-ray tube (not a radioactive isotope, so no NRC license required in the US – but still dangerous). Never point it at people or animals. Always use the provided safety interlock (if your unit still has the rear connector – jumper pins 1 & 2 if missing).
I just picked up an older alloy analyzer. It powers on, but I don’t have the original user manual. I’ve searched Thermo’s website (looks like they’ve purged legacy docs for this model) and tried the usual manual libraries, but no luck.
Has anyone successfully replaced the touch screen membrane on these? Mine has dead spots in the lower right corner. End of post.
