Mercedes Vito 2012 Service Reset Access

Within the first 4 seconds, press the odometer reset button (the small black button protruding from the instrument cluster, usually on the bottom left or right). Hold it for about 3 seconds.

Use the left/right arrow buttons on the steering wheel to navigate to the “SERVICE” menu (you may need to scroll through Trip, Radio, Nav, etc.).

Press the “OK” button. The display will ask: “RESET SERVICE INTERVAL?” or “CONFIRM RESET?”

Turn the ignition off. When you restart the engine, the service light should be gone. Method 2: Using Steering Wheel Buttons (If Equipped) Some 2012 Vitos have a multifunction steering wheel with left/right arrow buttons and an “OK” button. Within the first 4 seconds, press the odometer

Turn the ignition to position 1 (accessory mode – dash lights come on, but the engine is off).

Before you start, confirm your Vito’s instrument cluster type. The 2012 model year can have either the standard cluster (with a single multifunction button on the dashboard) or the steering wheel button layout. Below are the two most common methods. This works for Vitos without steering wheel menu buttons. The ignition key (do not start the engine)

The instrument cluster will display something like: “SERVICE IN … KM” or a voltage/battery display. Keep pressing the button repeatedly (each press cycles through menus) until you see “SERVICE MENU” or a flashing wrench symbol with the word “RESET” .

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz Vito is a reliable workhorse, but like all modern vehicles, it reminds you when routine maintenance is due. Once you’ve completed the oil change and service checks, you’ll need to reset the service interval display (often shown as “ASSYST PLUS” or a wrench symbol). Ignoring this light isn’t harmful, but resetting it ensures you’ll be accurately reminded of the next service.
