When Jurassic Park III hit theaters in 2001, it was a leaner, meaner sequel. Directed by Joe Johnston (taking over from Steven Spielberg), it ditched the philosophical debates of The Lost World for pure survival horror. But two decades later, it’s ripe for a deep dive.

If you index it by tension, dinosaur design, and pure B-movie energy, it ranks near the top. If you index it by plot logic or character development… well, it’s at the bottom. But for many fans, the fight and the birdcave scene make it endlessly rewatchable.
