Cascão looked at his own clean arms in horror. "This place has no mud! I feel… naked!"
"Don't worry," Gibi winked, "I have a garden out back. It rained last night."
"Wha—?" she blinked, pushing her glasses up her nose. Before she could grab her phone to record it, a soft fwump sound came from her beanbag chair. A small, blue, floppy-eared dog was now sitting there, holding a half-eaten sandwich.
Cascão held up the comic. "I was reading it when the portal sucked me in!" gibi da turma da monica
Gibi looked at the photo on her phone. She posted it online with the caption: "Just had the best comic book crossover ever. #MonicaAndFriends #Gibi #DimensionalChaos"
Then she looked at her beanbag chair. Blue had left behind the crust of his sandwich. She smiled, picked it up, and carefully placed it in a small display case next to her signed comic books.
Gibi, whose real name is Gilberte, was having a perfectly normal day in her colorful, pop-culture-filled bedroom. She had just finished drawing a new page for her webcomic when a strange, shimmering portal, humming with a low electronic beat, popped open right in front of her bookshelf. Cascão looked at his own clean arms in horror
The portal was now the size of a dinner plate. Mônica grabbed a shrinking Cascão, Blue the dog hopped onto her shoulder, and the giant rabbit (Sansão) tucked under her arm.
"Come visit anytime!" Gibi shouted as the portal zipped shut with a soft pop .
Cascão's eyes lit up. "A MUD PUDDLE? Be still my grimy heart!" It rained last night
Everyone stared at her blankly.
"Fan?" Mônica squinted. "Like a ceiling fan? We have one of those. Franklin's dad installed it."
Mônica stomped her foot. "Not without my comic book! Cebola—I mean, Cascão was holding our new issue of Turma da Mônica Jovem . It has a fold-out poster of Do Contra!"
