Introduction The Garud Puran (गरुड़ पुराण) is one of the 18 Mahapuranas in Hinduism. It is presented as a dialogue between Lord Vishnu and Garuda (the divine eagle). Unlike other Puranas that focus on rituals and creation, the Garud Puran is unique because it discusses death, the afterlife, the journey of the soul, and the rituals for ancestors (Shraddha).
