1. Context & Premise Ekjon Telapoka (English: A Cockroach ) is a Bangladeshi independent drama directed by Nurul Alam Atique . The film follows a middle-aged, reclusive man named Joynal, who lives alone in a decrepit Dhaka apartment. His only “companion” is a cockroach that scurries across his walls. The plot is minimal: Joynal loses his low-income job, faces eviction, and spirals into a quiet psychological breakdown while the city outside thunders with indifference.
