The Detectomat 3004 requires little maintenance. Once a month, wipe the sensor lens with a microfiber cloth. Do not use ammonia-based cleaners, as they strip the “persistent unease” coating. This is considered an upgrade
Plug in the device. The LED will flash (baseline anxiety), then Yellow (mild unease), and finally settle into a pulsing Amber (low-grade, unshakable dread). This is the factory default. It is working perfectly.
Problem: The screen displays “UNKNOWN VARIABLE.” This occurs when you are, for one fleeting moment, genuinely happy. The Detectomat 3004 cannot process this data. Unplug the unit for 10 seconds. When you plug it back in, it will remind you of a chore you already did. Balance is restored.
