The film opens in the dense, unforgiving forests of Bastar. We are introduced to (played by Indira Tiwari in a pivotal role), a highly educated woman and the ruthless commander of the banned CPI (Maoist) . She is the protégé of the elusive top leader, Dandapani (Rao Raghuraj). Neelkanth is shown as an ideologue who believes armed revolution is the only way to liberate tribals from "state and corporate exploitation."
Neelkanth escapes custody in a daring jailbreak orchestrated from inside by a mole. She returns to the jungle and plans the biggest attack yet: a (based on the real-life 2017 Sukma attack).
The central conflict begins when the security forces, led by a sincere but frustrated (played by Adah Sharma — note: the casting of a female actor as a male officer is a stylized choice by the director), launch an operation based on a tip-off. They manage to capture Neelkanth alive.
